Mayla and Alfie

"We were devastated to lose our beloved rescue rottie in March this year. We had just started looking to rehome another rescue to keep our very sad older rescue mastiff company. I was recommended Strays Without Borders by a colleague at work and she was spot on with her recommendation.

We saw Mayla on their website and fell in love instantly. We were looked after by our wonderful home checker Sarah who kept us in the loop at all times. We were sooo happy when we were told we were a match! We were updated all the time & it was very exciting to be part of a group chat that were all waiting for their dogs!

Beautiful Mayla arrived, very timid but always wagging her tail. She took a while to settle, as being a 3-year-old a home was very new to her, so she was very scared but we were given lots of helpful advice to help her settle. We then very sadly lost our rescue mastiff and poor Mayla was on her own. We messaged Strays Without Borders to ask if they had any suitable playmates as our experience with them was so good. We were advised of a confident 7-month-old male who needed a home. Shortly after Alfie bounced into our lives. We were advised of slow introductions but gradually Alfie & Mayla realised they love each other and now are inseparable. They were an ideal partnership so thank you Strays Without Borders for making our family happy again with our beautiful dogs who we adore. We never forget our previous rescues but are happy that we were given the opportunity to welcome two more rescues to the family." - Penny, Ian, Jess, Luis
