"I fell in love with the picture of Rita which was shared on Facebook. I read her story which Snezana shared on her page, about how she had found a puppy, around 4 to 5 months old, wandering near the dump, trying to find food in the bins. She put her in her rucksack and cycled to the rescue center.

She named her Rita, she was starving and had pneumonia. I contacted Snezana as I fell in love with Rita's beautiful sad eyes and unusual ears. Snezana kept me updated, sending me pictures, videos and daily updates. I arranged to have her delivered to Scotland the following February. I renamed her Kayla which I believe stands for 'Pure' in Greek, I thought this was fitting as she is from Macedonia.

When Kayla arrived in Scotland she was shaking, it took her a while to settle and she did chew a lot. I took her to training classes and worked with her at her own pace. She got along well with my other dog Barnaby and is the most loving gentle girl. She has so much character and is so unique looking. I love her so much and cannot imagine being without her now as she is my family.

Unfortunately Barnaby passed away as he was an elderly dog, I have since got another rescue called Olly and she gets along really well with him also.

Kayla has grown into a beautiful dog and settled into her environment. There are so many beautiful dogs like her needing a second chance. I am privileged to have Kayla in my life."
