"We had been thinking about getting a dog for quite a while and had even applied to some

UK rescue centres. We have young children, so the waiting time to get a suitable UK rescue

dog is extremely long. A friend of mine had been posting on Facebook about her new dog

that she had got through Strays Without Borders, so I looked it up.

We weren’t fussy about the type of dog we got, but we did want a puppy. When I saw the little faces of the dogs on the website, I decided to get in touch. Hollie looked after us very efficiently from the beginning. After filling out a form, a video-call to check out our house and garden, and a few minor adjustments in the garden to make it safe, we were asked which dog we wanted. It was so easy and straightforward. Astra travelled over to the UK with lots of other dogs from North Macedonia, then we picked her up at the kennels. We were kept informed of her progress throughout the whole process.

Astra has settled in very well to our family. She has slept in her crate from day 1 and is

getting used to the sights and sounds when out and about. She was quite nervous at the

beginning, but with a bit of encouragement she is becoming more confident by the day. She

is absolutely brilliant with the children, playful but so gentle. She’s learning how to play with

her toys, loves meeting new people, and has fitted into our family perfectly."
